We are off the Grid!
We are a materials Sourcing and Advisory Company. We find new materials and show them to Architects, Designers and Specifiers in an inspirational and informative way.
Our emblematic Gallery on Old Street closed it's doors Nov 2015 and we currently continue our work hidden away in the heart of Clerkenwell. You can get glimpses of us at our external events like Design Junction or our "Scin's Out' open day events that we hold periodically, presenting curated global Materials from individual original thinkers to the laboratories and think tanks of some of the largest research establishments. We have anything from the common brick to the meta material grown by scientists. Our Material Collections and Research touches on the future, debates the truly sustainable and welcomes the beautiful.
Our doors are open for research and consultancy, please get in touch for a quote for our services.
We are an Independent, Connected, Voice of Authority There is no such thing as ordinary nor the need for round pegs to fit in round holes, however there is need for solutions. Materials play an important role in all aspects of Design and we tell their stories.

What's going on?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) About TED TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman..
TEDxClerkenwell 2016 is about blurred boundaries, about a world where nothing is black or white but a rich variety of greys. In a global community, where are the limits that outline what makes us unique? What happens when one idea spurs another and then this one brings on another, so that there is no real authorship or ownership? We want to talk about feeding ideas and how inspiration can move from one artist to another, from one discipline to another or from one lifestyle to another, creating a chain of sorts, making everyone and everything interconnected in a woven world of great ideas.
